Why water and why Cambodia?
The global water crisis kills more than 5000 people every day. 90% of these deaths are children under the age of 5. Cambodia is a growing South East Asian economy yet there is a great divide between urban and rural Cambodia. Close to 40% of rural Cambodians do not have access to clean drinking water. Instead they depend on contaminated surface level water sources like ponds and rivers.
What are donations used for?
Michael Page is on a mission to improve the lives of over 800 villagers in rural Cambodia. Donations made online are sent directly to the implementing non-profit in Cambodia, Water For Cambodia. The money raised goes towards building life saving household water filters for families living in rural Siem Reap. A single water filter is capable of helping a family of 5 gain access to clean water for up to 20 years.
